Kid Nation 3

Desocialization is the process of giving up old norms, values, attitudes, and behavior.  The leaders gave the town a curfew.  The kids might not have had to help little kids before but now they do.  The little girl realizes that everything is not all about her.  The older kid realizes the people in his town don't really like him so he has to change.

Anticipatory socialization is voulintary preparing to accept new norms, values, attitudes, and behavior.  Some of the kids had to be ok with getting the microwave and not the pizza.  Some of the kids had to accept that they weren't upper class anymore.  Some of the kids had to suck it up and clean the dishes.  The kids had to get over the girl that only cared about herself.

Looking glass stage is how you see your self based on what others think of you.  The older kid feels like a jerk after cussing at all of them.  One of the town council people know that he's annoying after everybody yells at him.  Every body tells the kid on green that he is very brave and strong for a little kid and he starts to get a better attitude and not be as homesick.  The little girl cries because she feels bad after everyone yells at her.
